Cats and Dogs

Possum has had an enduring affection for cats and dogs - ever since she was a toddler - and she's about to turn six. Trouble is she's not allowed one of either as yet. We have settled on a pet worm for the moment.

Swallows and Amazons

Captain has rated his favourite books to date:

1. Swallows and Amazons by Arthur Ransome
2. Famous Five by Enid Blyton
3. The Boxcar Children by Gertrude Chandler Warner
4. The Melendy Quartet by Elizabeth Enright

Wobbegong Shark and Port Jackson Shark Egg Cases

Yesterday the children discovered a Wobbegong Shark resting in the crevice of a local rockpool.
They also found three Port Jackson Shark egg cases with an egg in each one.
Seriously interesting.

Today we started hammock homeschooling - reading our current book in the hammock, then getting on with a study from the book.
Reading The Magic School Bus Kicks Up A Storm - A Book About Weather furthered our understanding of how water, air and heat, stirred together, makes the weather.
Next we'll watch the related video.
